Tess Marique Oostwouder (1995) is een veelzijdige, professioneel opgeleide klassiek zangeres die met haar heldere klank en expressieve uitstraling uiteenlopende doelgroepen weet te raken. Zij studeerde in 2018 af aan het HKU Utrechts Conservatorium (Klassiek Zang) bij Dobrinka Yankova en wordt momenteel gecoacht door Ingrid Stijsiger in Alkmaar.
Haar muzikale basis werd al op jonge leeftijd gelegd. Zij volgde zanglessen bij Tom de Graaf in Schagen en studeerde klassiek ballet volgens de Engelse Cecchetti-techniek bij Jaap Blokdijk, waarvoor zij vijf certificaten behaalde. Op dertienjarige leeftijd stond zij al in de grote nationale musicalproductie Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat van Joop van den Ende, waar zij zong, danste en acteerde.
Breed inzetbaar – van concertzaal tot intieme gelegenheid
Tess is vooral actief in Noord-Holland en treedt daarnaast op door heel Nederland voor concerten en bijzondere gelegenheden.
Tess is actief als soliste bij koren, harmonieorkesten en diverse ensembles. Zij vertolkte onder meer de Johannes-Passion en Hohe Messe van Bach, het Gloria in D van Vivaldi, de Messe in Es-dur van Schubert en diverse cantates van Bach en Telemann in concertzalen en kerken door heel Nederland.
Daarnaast verzorgt zij regelmatig (Italiaanse) dinerconcerten, sfeervolle muzikale avonden waarin zij aria’s, liederen en canzoni combineert met persoonlijke toelichting. Haar concerten zijn nadrukkelijk toegankelijk voor een breed publiek, niet alleen voor doorgewinterde liefhebbers van klassieke muziek.

Naast het podiumrepertoire wordt Tess gevraagd voor huwelijken, herdenkingsdiensten en uitvaarten. Naast haar zangcarrière volgde Tess een minor Italiaanse Taal & Cultuur aan de Universiteit Utrecht (2018) en behaalde zij in 2022 haar bachelor Biologie, Voeding & Gezondheid aan Aeres University of Applied Sciences. In 2025 rondde zij haar opleiding tot Vinyasa yogadocent (200 uur) af aan De Nieuwe Yogaschool in Amsterdam, gevolgd door een specialisatie Docent Zwangerschapsyoga (50 uur). Deze brede achtergrond draagt bij aan haar holistische benadering van stem, adem en podiumprésence.

She took voice lessons with Tom de Graaf in Schagen and studied classical ballet following the English Cecchetti method with Jaap Blokdijk, earning five certificates. At the age of thirteen, she performed in the major national musical production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, produced by Joop van den Ende, where she sang, danced, and acted.
Versatile – From Concert Hall to Intimate Setting
Based in the province of North Holland, Tess is particularly active throughout the region, while also performing across the Netherlands for concerts and special occasions.
Tess performs regularly as a soloist with choirs, wind orchestras, and various ensembles. Her repertoire includes Bach’s St John Passion and Mass in B minor, Vivaldi’s Gloria in D, Schubert’s Mass in E-flat major, and numerous cantatas by Bach and Telemann, performed in concert halls and churches throughout the Netherlands.
In addition, she frequently presents (Italian) dinner concerts — atmospheric musical evenings in which she combines arias, songs, and canzoni with personal introductions. Her performances are intentionally accessible to a wide audience, not only to seasoned classical music lovers.
Tess’s mission is to bring classical music closer to people. By carefully selecting repertoire that matches the atmosphere of the venue and the audience, and by introducing the music in an engaging and accessible way, she creates connection and recognition. She guides listeners through the stories behind the music, enabling them to more deeply experience the emotion and meaning of the text. The result is a warm and connecting concert experience in which classical music becomes understandable and tangible for everyone.
Together with harpist Colet Nierop, she forms the duo Tess & Co., offering a broad and flexible program ideal for concert series, cultural events, dinner performances, and house concerts.
